BlackBerry (as RIM is now called) has managed to fit the device into a thin 9 mm frame which makes it easy to handle and attractive in its black and white colors.
The device comes with BlackBerry 10 which offers true multitasking (like Android) allowing you to easily switch between your active tasks. BlackBerry has paid attention to detail and have made the software keyboard look almost identical to its physical counterpart. Additionally you get features like gesture typing, word suggestions and left swipe to delete which only services to improve your overall experience.
The platform has over 70,000 applications in its store, which is the most any mobile operating has had at launch. The apps include, Skype, WhatsApp, Angry Birds, Where’s My Water and Amazon Kindle among others. Over a thousand of the top applications are said to be committed to BB10 which is a great start for the platform.
The UK is expected to be the first to get access to the BlackBerry Z10 as early as tomorrow through major carriers. Users in the UK can choose to purchase the device either as at a subsidized cost or choosing a pay-as-you-go method. Users in Canada will have access to the handset on February 5th and it will be priced at CAD 139.99 with the typical 3-year contract. Meanwhile all major carriers in the U.S. have plans to offer the BlackBerry Z10, which is said to arrive sometime around March. However the exact release dates or pricing has not been revealed for the devices.
