One device which got caught up in this redundancy was the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 (P7310) which was the Korean manufacturer’s flagship Android tablet when it was first released. It has since been succeeded by newest devices and Samsung unfortunately decided not to upgrade the device past Honeycomb.
Luckily the developer community didn't feel the same way and have decided to bring Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to the Galaxy Tab 8.9 through an unofficial CyanogenMod 10.1 ROM. If you own a Galaxy Tab 8.9 and want to upgrade it to the latest version of Android, you can follow our step-by-step guide on how to install CyanogenMod 10.1 on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.
[NOTE] This is an early experimental build and certain features may not be working correctly. You may not be able to revert back to CM9 or CM10 after installing this mod either.
[NOTE] Make sure that you have at least 50% of battery charge on your device. If your battery runs out during the flashing process it could permanently damage your device.
[NOTE] Make sure you have backed up the data on your device before you proceed
[DISCLAIMER] The following process may result in loss of data or device malfunction if not performed carefully. Please do not proceed unless you are aware of these risks.
