[Android app] Facebook updated (2.0) now a much faster native code app

The Facebook for Android app has been updated to version 2.0 and is now in native code like Facebook for iOS and is twice as fast as the previous version of its app. Facebook for Android allows you to keep in touch with your friends by seeing what they are up-to  sharing updates, photos and videos, chat or text or even plat games.

You can download the update directly on your device through the Google Play Store or by using the link which follows:

Following the update you will notice that almost everything seems faster: navigation, scrolling, links, pictures. There doesn’t seem to be any new features with this release, but the overall speed increase will definitely be noticed. The change-log for Facebook 2.0 reads as follows:
  • News feed and your Timeline load faster
  • Photos open with a tap so you can quickly like and comment
  • New Stories bar lets you see more stories without refreshing
Facebook has even shared some of the improvements they have made to the app  with developers to help them understand how the app performs the way it does. You can find out more about these improvements by following the source link.
