Motorola Droid Xyboard 8.2 receives Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update



The Motorola Droid Xyboard 8.2 for Verizon is now receiving the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update. This tablet was released around ten months and came with Android Honeycomb at a time markets were welcoming ICS tablets.

The larger Motorola Droid Xyboard 10.1 received its ICS update back in August and its good the 8.2 inch version has joined in finally.


The ICS update for the Xyboard 8.2 is 299 MB in size and brings new features like the direct access lock screen, improved multi-tasking, the ability to create folders and a data usage monitor. The update also brings update USB drives for improved PC file transfer, an update corporate email client, faster web browsing and better network connectivity.

Motorola will probably not bring Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to the Xyboard 8.2, so this may be the last official Android update for this tablet.
