$99 Google Nexus tablet coming in fourth quarter ?

Google offers a great deal with the Google Nexus 7 which costs only $199, but rumors are circulating once again about a cheaper $99 tablet which should be available by the upcoming holiday season. While Asus, the current manufacturer of the Nexus 7 has denied their involvement in building a cheaper tablet, reports suggest that Taiwan based Quanta has been recruited to build this rumored device.

This tablet is reported to feature an ARM based single core 8950 processor developed by WonderMedia Technologies in China. The display on the device will reportedly be supplied by HannStar Display in Taiwan. Quanta refused to confirm any of these rumors.

If the $99 Nexus tablet becomes a reality, the tablet landscape will changed drastically as the both the existing Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD will be mid range offering at $199, while the rumored iPad Mini will become the most costly in the 7 inch range.

This is not the first time rumors of the $99 Nexus Tablet have come along, and this definitely not be the last. However until these rumors are confirmed as facts by Google, we wont know for sure if it will become a reality.
