[Rumor] Is the Samsung GT-I9260 the Galaxy Nexus 2 ?

There are rumors suggesting that several manufacturers are working on their own Nexus branded devices. One of these devices are rumored to be from Samsung and will be the successor to the Google Galaxy Nexus. The first bit of information was found through a user agent and the second was from photos uploaded to Picasa both referring to the GT-i9260 which is suspected to be the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2.

The user agent profile reveals a device with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution and an ARM 11 processor. The choice of using AMR 11 on a brand new device is a little strange considering the architecture has been around for several years now. But we do wonder if Google is attempting to hit an extremely low price point with this device making it affordable to all. The i9260 internal naming places the device between the Samsung Galaxy S II (i9100) and the Samsung Galaxy S III (i9300) also makes us believe it would be competitively price.

The second bit of evidence about this device comes from images uploaded to Picasa which refer to the i9260 name. You can see them in full resolution by following the source link.

While the pictures look reasonably good for indoor photos, they don’t flatter the performance of the rumored 8 megapixel Nexus camera.

As the first anniversary of the Galaxy Nexus draws closer, we can be sure that its successor is not far from being revealed. Stay tuned for updates on the new Nexus in the weeks ahead by following us on Facebook or Twitter.
