Microsoft confirms Windows 8 Release for October
Microsoft has confirmed that Windows 8 will be released in October. This announcement was made by Microsoft’s Chief Financial Officer Tami Reller, at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto.
It wasn’t too long ago that the Windows 8 upgrade pricing was released, and now that we have an official release date, Microsoft’s new operating system feels closer than ever.
Microsoft is working towards having Windows 8 RTM (Release to Manufacturing) ready in the first week of August. The RTM would mark the final version of Windows which will be sent to manufacturers to start loading the operating system into their devices.
Microsoft has a busy few months ahead of them as they prepare Windows Phone 8 and the Office 2013 platform. Microsoft has remained quite secretive on their projects and its good to see that we will get to enjoy some of them quite soon.
