Sony Xperia S will receive Android ICS in May/June


As more and more manufacturers start revealing their plans for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich deployment our eyes go back to Sony who have been quite open in terms of their ICS update plans. The manufacturer has been releasing alpha and beta builds of their ICS update, allowing the community to test the latest version of Android. However the question on when the Sony Xperia S is getting Android ICS has not been answered – until now.


The news came through the Sony Mobile forums where a support team member revealed that the Xperia S will be receiving its ICS update by Late May or early June. This leaves just around a month by which Xperia S users will be able to enjoy the latest version of ICS on their handsets.

Given that the Xperia S has not had the luxury of a public beta test, we hope that the folks at Sony have been working hard to ensure the ICS release wont be riddled with bugs.
