It looks like Microsoft is getting ready to change the Windows logo in the upcoming version of Windows. The new logo looks to represent the Metro tile based UI which first debuted on Windows Phone 7 and will now make it's presessence felt across the entire Windows ecosystem with the release of Windows 8.Microsoft has still to make the official announcement of the new logo which was first reported by Chinese website cnBeta and later confirmed by sources at The Verge and other independent sources.
The new logo is said to be officially announced alongside the the Windows 8 - Consumer Preview which is set to be publicly released on February 29. The new look replaces the multi coloured flag which we have identified Windows with over the years.The new monochrome logo which represents the Metro based tiles user interface is probably a result of Microsoft's "Windows re-imagined marketing campaign.
