Windows 8 Tablets may have an edge over Android Tablets says ARM CEO

An ARM Windows 8 will be released alongside the standard Intel and AMD supported version of Windows for the company to better compete with the iPad and Android tablets. ARM CEO Warren East suggests that Windows ARM based tablets may have an advantage over their Android counterparts.

He had the following to say while announcing the company's 2011 earnings:
"Consumers are familiar with Microsoft and very familiar with Windows and they’re less familiar with an Android environment. Microsoft has an awareness advantage with consumers that the Android folks didn’t have”.
“It’s up to Microsoft [and we'll see] how well they’re going to exploit that advantage. But I think that’s a fundamental difference.”
He also said that it will take users some time to be familiar with Android on tablets while Windows users will be more at home on Windows based tablets due to their familiarity with the Windows platform. He also pointed at the growning interest in Windows 8 as an indication of the platforms success in the tablet form.
