[Guide] How to root your Android device with SuperOneClick


Rooting your Android device is not as complicated as it once was. Previously gaining root required various steps, but now thanks to tools like SuperOneClick the rooting process is very simple.

If you own a device and have been thinking of rooting it you can follow our step by step guide on how to get that done.

It is important to understand why you have chosen to root your device, it may be to install a custom ROM or an application which cannot be installed through regular methods.

[NOTE] Rooting can voice the warranty of your device, The process of rooting can result in data loss or bricking (malfunction) of your device. There are several tools which now offer an easy 1-Click rooting method, but Super One-Click by XDA Developers is probably one of the more popular tools.

Requirements

  • Enable USB Debugging under Settings > Applications > Development

  • Download and install the Android SDK

Step by Step Guide

  1. Download the latest version of Super One Click and extract the zip file.

  2. Connect your device to your computer and make sure the SD card is not mounted.

  3. Open the extracted folder and run SuperOneClick.exe

  4. When the application opens click on Root.

  5. You will see some messages run the window below, as long as it doesn’t hang, just let it continue until you see the message ‘Success‘ appear.

  6. At this point check if an application names ‘SuperUser‘ has been installed on your device.
    • If you see it your device has been rooted.
    • In any case reboot your device.

  7. Once rebooted return to your Android apps and open SuperUser

  8. The tool will notify you every time you run an application which required root (superuser) access.
    • You can ask the tool to remember the applications it gives access to so you are not notified every time you open the app.

That's it you have rooted your device in a few simple steps.
