The new version of Defender will help protect users from malware which include worms, viruses, bots and rootkits according to a blog post by Microsoft's Jason Garms.

Defender will receive its updates through Windows Update and will be interfaced with Microsoft's Secure Boot technology to ensure that the device boot process is also secure.
