Windows 8 - Fast boot time demonstrated

One of the biggest requirement for Windows 8 to be able to compete against the modern mobile operating systems is to be able to boot quickly.
The following demonstration of Windows 8 shows that Microsoft has been able to achieve that.

Windows 8 achieves this feat by taking the current Windows state and saving it onto the disk before the device is powered off. So when you power your machine back on, Windows appears to recover from hibernation instead of turning on and it does it in just a couple of seconds.

The difference with regular hibernation is that when you switch Windows 8 on it will present the user with clean state instead of saving previously launched apps when it is switched on from being shut down.

The outcome has been amazing and it doesn't matter if you own an SSD (like in the video) or a regular hard drive. You will see an improvement that cuts down boot times almost in half.

Windows 8 which is set to be demonstrated during the upcoming Microsoft BUILD conference next week boasts a new Metro style UI along with  several improvements to regular Windows operations. Microsoft will hopefully release a beta build of Windows this year before the final version is released on computers in the coming year.

Does the amazing boot time make you look more favorably towards Windows 8 ? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
