Amazon Kindle Fire will be announced on Wednesday

Amazon is getting it's first tablet ready for the masses and it is reported to be announced by the company on Wednesday September 28 at a press event. Reports claim that Amazon's CEO Jeff Bezos will present the Kindle Fire tablet during the keynote.

The Fire will feature 7 inch tablet and is said to cost between $250-300 at launch. The device is said to resemble the BlackBerry Playbook, the reason being that it is manufactured by the same company that produced the PlayBook for RIM.

It is clear that the Kindle Fire is not meant to compete with the iPad or any of the high end HoneyComb tablets. Its manufacturing has been rushed so that Amazon can quickly get into the tablet market. The device will likely just replace the Nook Color and pave the way for better things to come from Amazon in the near future. Since the device will not run the traditional Android OS from Google, it will be interesting to see the interface that Amazon builds for the device.

What are your thoughts on the Amazon Kindle Fire ? Does the price and size coupled with the Amazon services make it enough of a winner in the 7 inch range ? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
