Microsoft has chosen not to release a tablet optimized version of Windows Phone OS and instead continue to build Windows to support tablet devices. The biggest problem with this is that Windows based tablets cost a lot more than what Apple and Android have to offer, so I hope Microsoft finds a way to rectify this.
