Sony Xperia SP - Video Review

The Sony Xperia SP is an Android smartphone which features a 4.6 inch touch display with a 720 by 1280 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls, and is powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

Sony to release Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for 2012 Xperias by Q2 2013

jbean_srgbSony has confirmed that they will be releasing the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for their 2012 Xperia lineup by the first half of 2013. The Sony Xperia T, Sony Xperia TX and the Sony Xperia V will reportedly receive the Jelly Bean update as early as the first quarter.

This will be followed by updates to the Sony Xperia S, Sony Xperia Acro S, Sony Xperia Ion, Sony Xperia P, Sony Xperia Go and Sony Xperia J. However Sony has still to reveal a time frame for these devices to get Android 4.1.

Sony Xperia P will receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in a few weeks


Having one of the brightest displays on a modern smartphone, Sony Xperia P users would be somewhat disappointed that they haven't gotten to savor Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich while the Google Nexus family is already tasting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

However it seams the wait may be over, as Sony Mobile has stated that the Xperia P will be updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich in just a few weeks.

Sony MWC 2012 Overview


Sony has added two new devices to their Xperia family during the MWC 2012. They are the Sony Xperia P which was previously rumored to be the Sony Nyphone and the Sony Xperia U which was the previously rumored Sony Kumquat.

Both devices are smaller variants of the Sony Xperia S and are expected to be globally available in the second quarter of 2012.
