Huawei Ascend P1 finally arrives in the U.S. on Amazon with a $449.99 price tag

Chinese manufacturer Huawei has some exciting devices planned for the upcoming CES 2013, but today’s news is regarding the Huawei Ascend P1 which was announced during CES 2012 alongside the Huawei Ascend P1 S. The device has finally been made available in the U.S. after being launched in China back in April and in Europe in June.

Considering that the device was first announced early last year alongside the specifications aren't as impressive as they were when first announced. The Ascend P1 features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display, 4GB of onboard storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel camera, a secondary 1.3 megapixel camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4460 processor with 1GB of RAM. The handset has a 1670 mAh battery and is 7.68 mm thick.

Huawei Ascend P1 released in Europe with a $565 price tag


The Huawei Ascend P1 is an impressive high end device featuring a 4.3 inch touchscreen display, 8 megapixel camera and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It was revealed during CES 2012 alongside the Huawei Ascend P1 S and Huawei promised that the device will be made available globally. Currently the device has been made available in places like Australia, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan and now there is news on its upcoming availability in European markets.

Germany and Italy will be the first countries to get access to the device and will be priced at €454.35 ($570) and €449.90 ($565) respectively.

Huawei Ascend P1 released in China, coming to Europe in June

The Huawei Ascend P1 was first announced during CES 2012 alongside its ultra slim counterpart the Huawei Ascend P1 S. While the latter has still not been made available for purchase the Ascend P1 is now available for purchase in China for 2,999 yuan ($475).

Huawei has announced that the Ascend P1 will also be released in other markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan and Australia in May. Latin America and Europe are expected to receive the device later in June.

Huawei Ascend P1 - Hands On

The Huawei Ascend P1 features a 4.3 inch touch display, 8 megapixel camera and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual core processor with 1GB of RAM.

The device is almost identical to the Huawei Ascend P1S but has a slightly thicker 0.3 inch (7.69 mm) body.

Huawei announces Ascend P1 and the Ascend P1 S as world's thinnest phone


Huawei has just announced the Huawei Ascend P1 S at the CES 2012 which beats the Motorola Droid RAZR as the new world’s thinnest smartphone. The device is just 6.68 mm (0.26 inches) thin beating the 7.1 mm on the Droid RAZR.

Additionally Huawei is also announcing the Huawei Ascend P1 a younger sibling of the flagship which is almost physically identical but has a slightly thicker 7.69 mm (0.3 inch) body.
