T-Mobile introduces Un-Carrier 7.0 and unleashes Wi-Fi

T-Mobile introduces Un-Carrier 7.0

Today T-Mobile introduced UN-Carrier 7.0 during a special event which was titled, "This Time It's Personal". During the event it unveiled that the latest chapter will be called "Wi-Fi unleashed". Basically what this means is that your T-Mobile device will be able to seamlessly switch between Wi-Fi and network calls without dropping or delay.

We already know that the recently announced Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus along with iOS 8 will introduce support for W-Fi calling and texting. But T-Mobile is planning to take this one step further by enabling Wi-Fi calling on its entire lineup of devices. To ensure that every single personal and business customer will be able to take advantage of this feature, T-Mobile is inviting them to come an enroll in its JUMP! upgrade program and walk away with a new Wi-Fi calling enabled handset.

These T-Mobile devices are specially designed to ensure high-quality HD voice, fast call setup times, fewer dropped calls and seamless voice coverage between T-Mobile’s nationwide Voice over LTE (VoLTE) network and Wi-Fi.

T-Mobile also wants to make sure that you have a great Wi-Fi connection at home, so they are giving away a free T-Mobile Personal CellSpot to their Simple Plan customers. The Personal CellSpot turns into your very own T-Mobile tower in your house, and will ensure you get a full-bars experience on your T-Mobile device anywhere you have a broadband connection. The Personal CellSpot will always prioritize your phone line, so that you always get the best quality when you are making or receiving calls. Those who don't have a Simple Plan with T-Mobile or use the carrier's pre-paid features can still get the T-Mobile Personal CellSpot for $99. Even those who need a second CellSpot for their home can purchase it for this price.

As part of Un-Carrier 7.0 T-Mobile even wants to un-leash Wi-Fi in the sky. In an exclusive, new partnership with Gogo, enabling T-Mobile customers to send and receive unlimited text and picture messages, and even get visual voicemail, on any Gogo-equipped flight on U.S. based airlines free of charge.
