Google Nexus 6 rumor roundup

Google Nexus 6 with Android 5.0 L

The Google Nexus 6 is coming, and it is rumored to be built by Motorola this year. Up until now we have had a lot of speculation regarding the internal hardware and some images depicting the device. Today a new report that confirms many of these rumors.

The information comes from AndroidPolice, confirming that the upcoming Nexus 6 will indeed feature a 5.9 inch display and will essentially be a larger variant of the Motorola Moto X. The Nexus 6 will however feature black front-facing stereo speakers, and the power button and volume rocker are a bit farther down on the side of the device, to account for the enormous screen.

Since the Nexus 6 will run the Android L release, the device will come with new icons as depicted in the image. Additionally, the status icons for battery, Wifi, and cell signal are all solid (without breaks like the current icons), suggesting they've been refreshed for the new release, which will carry the Android 5.0 moniker.

The Nexus 6 is said to carry the same aluminum frame found on the new Moto X, and 5.9 inch QHD display with an ample 496ppi pixel density. The rear will have the 13 megapixel camera with the dual-flash ring configuration, a 2MP camera in front will take care of the selfies while a 3200+ mAh battery will keep the device running.

The Nexus 6 is also said to be compatible with the Motorola Turbo Charger, and will offer super-fast charging. For reference, Motorola currently claims that 15 minutes on the charger will give the new Moto X "8 hours" of usage.

So when can be expect this mysterious Nexus 6? We dont know yet. Google has still not announced a date for an unveiling, but we reckon Android 5.0 L should be ready sometime in October. Stayt tuned.
