Nokia's Devices & Services unit, which is now known as Microsoft Mobile is teasing an unveiling the Nokia Conversations blog. The unveiling will take place on June 24, with a countdown timer counting down to the event. The post suggests that the device will make us "green with envy" and that that "Summer brings out our inner glow" suggesting that the announcement could be a new Android device.
There have been several rumors recently suggesting that Microsoft is planning to release a successor to the Nokia X. Its actually great to see that Microsoft has not given up on the Android powered Nokia X family, which was unveiled before Nokia moved under Microsoft's management.
According to the hardware specifications that leaked previously, the device will be an entry-level one, aimed at the emerging markets. Reportedly, it will sport a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, a dual-core Snapdragon 200, running at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage, and a 5MP rear camera. The device in question is rolling under the RM-1013 model number and its codename is Nokia X2DS.
These specifications are in line with the affordable Motorola Moto G, and it looks like Microsoft is readying themselves to battle for stock in the emerging markets.

The device will run the forked version of Android we saw on the previous first generation of Nokia X handsets. You wont get Google's apps and services, which is replaced by content from Nokia and Microsoft. Unlike the Nokia X, which only had a physical "back" button, its rumored successor is expected to also feature a physical "home" button at the front.
