As you may know, the Xbox Live Gold subscription comes with two free games every month. While you may not always like the choices that Microsoft makes for you, this week's Lara Croft and the Guardian Light is one worth checking out.
Crystal Dynamics has worked hard to re-imagine the iconic Tomb Raider series in a whole new light because the old formula wasn't really working for them. Lara Croft and the Guardian Light takes this step in a co-op isometric action and puzzle solving game
Lara and her native sidekick, the Guardian of Light, take their skills to death defying leaps, huge hordes of enemies, and traps of the worst description as they plunge deeper and deeper into tombs. Uncover treasure, complete challenges, earn performance points, learn from your mistakes to go back and earn even more points. It’s a rinse and repeat formula inspired more by arcade games than anything on today’s market.
While Lara Croft and the Guardian Light does differ from the game's usual third-person shooter roots, Crystal Dynamic has since returned to Lara's more historic gaming style.
If you have had your eye on Lara Croft and the Guardian Light, you may as well grab some Xbox Gold and redeem it for your free game while the offer lasts.
