BlackBerry sends out invitations to special media event

BlackBerry is sending out invitations to a series of international media events which will take place on September 18, in Malaysia, France and India. Its likely that more regions will be added to this list. While the company hasn't revealed what we should expect on that date, speculations are circulating on what we can expect.

Its no secret that BlackBerry is looking for a buyer and the company wants to find a buyer no later than November. In any case we expect the media event to shed some light on the future of the once highly sort after smartphone brand.

BlackBerry is also known to have been working on a couple of projects. On one hand we have the BlackBerry Aristo Z30, which is expected to succeed the BlackBerry Z10 and is currently said to be undergoing carrier testing. Could BlackBerry be planning to move ahead with unveiling a new smartphone.

On the other hand BlackBerry could use this event to unveil the eagerly awaited BBM Messenger which is expected to arrive on Android and iOS and has reportedly gone through the Apple App Store approval process recently.
