Windows Phone 8 to receive Apollo+ update

Remember Windows Phone Apollo? It was the codename given to Windows Phone 8 during its development. It looks like we will be hearing the Apollo name again quite soon, as Microsoft is reported to be working on their first update for Windows Phone 8.

The update which is codenamed Apollo+ is aimed at completing Windows Phone 8, as Microsoft didn't have enough time to complete all the features they wanted in Windows Phone 8 before releasing it in time for the holiday season.

While we are still uncertain of all the changes Apollo+ will bring, we expect Microsoft will address a number of issues, including the ability to keep your Wi-Fi connection running all the time, fixes for audio playback issues and support for VPN, which should allow enterprise users to connect to their work computers from their mobile devices.

There is no confirmation on when the update can be expected, but we hope Microsoft will reveal some information on the update during the Mobile World Congress in February.
