Install Siri like dictation on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 4G

The Apple iPhone 4S may be faster and have a better camera than it's predecessor, but the feature which users find most appealing and intriguing is the digital voice assistant Siri.

Hackers have been trying to find a way to port the iPhone 4S exclusive voice assistant to run on older iOS devices but have still not come up with a public solution. Now a solution has been made available which brings part of the Siri experience to your device.

The solution comes from developer Eric Day and its available through Cydia as a jailbreak app. So your device needs to be jailbroken in order for you to use this.

To install you will need to,
  • Open Cydia
  • Click Manage
  • Add  'http://apt.if0rce.com' under sources
  • Search for Seri0us and install the app.
The app is supported through ads and is available for free on Cydia. While it doesn't offer the full features of Siri it brings the dictation functionality to your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS or iPod Touch 4G.

Check out Siri0us in action in the video which follows:

NOTE - The developer has pointed out that there are issues in the release which may cause your iOS device to randomly respring. A fix is on the way and will be made available as an update through Cydia.
