Toshiba Excite spotted at IFA 2011

The Toshiba Thrive is a tablet known for it's versatility by offering multiple options for connectivity and the company is ready to offer the same in a much smaller package. The Toshiba (AT200) Excite offers microUSB, microSD, microHDMI, a user changeable battery and interchangeable back covers while staying slimmer than both the Apple iPad 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and currently holds the crown of thinnest tablet at only 7.7mm.

The device was unveiled during the IFA 2011 Expo and flaunts a sleek brushed metal back cover compared to the bulky plastic body on the Toshiba Thrive. It weigh 1.23 pounds (558 g), has a 5MP camera on the rear for photos, features 8 hours of video playback and is powered by a 1.2 GHz TI OMAP4430 CPU.

The Toshiba Excite is expected to be released during the fourth quarter of 2011 in Europe and will also find it's way to the U.S. and other countries around the world.
