[Guide] How to enable Facetime on your iPhone 3GS

The Apple iPhone 4 and the latest iPod Touch have a unique feature called Facetime, which allows you to use the front camera on the device to make and receive video calls between supported devices.

Since the Apple iPhone 3GS doesn't have a front facing camera, it did not receive Facetime with the software update. However you can use the following guide to modify your iPhone 3GS to support Facetime video calls.

[NOTE] You will need to jailbreak your iPhone in order to install this MOD.

  1. Open Cydia on your jailbroken iPhone 3GS head over to sources and add the following source

    -
  2. Once your done, you can search for the FaceIt-3GS app and install it on your device.
    -
  3. Reboot and go to Settings -> Phone and you can toggle FaceTime on and off.

Since the 3GS does not have a front facing camera video cannot be viewed from that end, but you  can definitely make the audio call.
