Microsoft Surface Pro pricing revealed in Germany, available for pre-order

The Microsoft Surface RT seems to be fairing well in the market, since it launch back on October 26th. However there would be some who are holding off waiting for the more powerful Microsoft Surface Pro to be released. Especially if they are looking for the full Windows experience instead of the tablet oriented Windows RT.

The Surface Pro runs the full version of Windows 8. It features a 10.6-inch full HD touch display, up to 128GB of internal storage, two cameras and is powered by Intel Core i5 Ivy Bridge processor.

It has a higher resolution display and up to 128GB of storage compared to the maximum 64GB available on the Surface RT. It also features a stylus and is powered by an Intel Core i5 processor. The added features makes the device slighter thicker and about a half pound heavier. It also means that the Surface pro will cost significantly more than the Surface RT.

The German retailer Notebook.de is offering the Surface Pro for €909 ($1,163) on pre-order for the 128GB model. The 64GB model is also available and it is priced at €809. These prices include Value Added Tax (VAT). The non VAT prices seem much more reasonable at €763 ($976) for the 128GB model and €679 ($868) for the 64GB model. We think the slate will be quite a hit if it were offered at these prices here in the U.S.

The site suggests that the device will be delivered in 3 – 4 weeks, which contradicts with our beliefs that the device was expected to be launched early next year. Maybe Microsoft wants to have the Surface Pro ready for the holiday season which would be always welcome.
