Xiaomi Redmi Note announced, an affordable, upper-mid range phablet

The Xiaomi Redmi Note has been officially announced by the Chinese manufacturer as a low-cost, upper-mid range phablet. The device features a 5.5 inch 720p display and is available for pre-order in two-versions - one with a 1.4GHz MT6592 octa-core CPU, 1GB RAM, and 8GB storage which costs $130, and one with a spec bump to 1.7GHz, 2GB RAM, and 16GB storage which will cost $160. The phablet will launch on March 26 in China.

Other specs on the Xiaomi Redmi Note include a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5MP front camera, a 3200 mAh battery and connectivity options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The phablet has two SIM-slots and supports TD-SCDMA/HSPA/GSM/EDGE networks.



Keep in mind that the above mentioned prices are for the Chinese market only, as the phablet is also available for international pre-order through Xiaomi World for about $100 more.
