Nokia suggests users consider their affordable Lumia 520 instead of the 8GB iPhone 5c

Today Apple released an 8GB variant of its iPhone 5c in select markets, citing it as a more affordable alternative. Unfortunately more affordable does not mean cheap as the device is selling for around €550 (the equivalent of $765) across Europe, as much as many top-shelf devices. Nokia used this fact to point out that users should consider their Lumia 520 instead of the iPhone 5c

The Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4 inch display with a 480 by 800 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded with microSD, a 5MP rear camera and a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM.

Meanwhile the Apple iPhone 5c features a 4 inch Retina Display with a 640 by 1136 pixels resolution, it has up to 32GB of storage, an 8MP rear iSight camera, a secondary FaceTime camera and a dual-core Apple A6 processor with 1GB of RAM.

Hey Apple: 'Today we announce a colourful, fast and affordable 8GB smartphone

While the iPhone 5c is clearly the better device between the two, it still doesn't justify its high price. The Lumia 520 is also actually multiple times cheaper than an iPhone 5c, as Nokia has dropped its full retail price to as low as $70 in some markets like the United States.

Even the high end Lumia 920, which is available in multiple colors and offers an even better camera than the one found on the iPhone can be purchased for lesser than Apple's affordable offering.

Do you think Apple's pricing for their smartphones are fair? Does Nokia have some point in bringing up this comparison?
