Motorola Moto X for Verizon receives Android 4.4 KitKat

The Motorola Moto X for Verizon is receiving the Android 4.4 KitKat software update. The biggest carrier in the US, is usually last in line to release their software updates, but it looks like the plan to change that as they are the first of the carriers to bring KitKat to their Moto X.

Among the improvements, Android 4.4 brings an improved dialer, powerful photo editing tools, emojis for the keyboard, a new hangouts app with SMS integration, and other improvements and enhancements.

Android 4.4 KitKat - Here's All You Need to Know
Its been over a month since Android 4.4 was officially announced, but Google has just announced what we can expect from the next version of Android alongside their unveiling of the Google Nexus 5. Here's all you need to know

Motorola has taken the opportunity to bring more improvements to the device camera. There is no word on image quality fixes, but the camera app on the Moto X will get new options to simply drag your finger on screen to change the focus or exposure when taking a picture.

This is an incredibly fast turnaround for Motorola given that the Nexus 4 and Google Edition devices haven't even gotten the Android 4.4 update yet. Motorola says that the update is rolling out "in phases" starting today, but hasn't said how long the total process will take.
