It looks like Microsoft has finally realised that its not quite fair to charge an additional $100 for the Touch or Type cover with the Microsoft Surface RT. If you purchase a new Microsoft branded Windows RT tablet, you will receive a keyboard cover (including limited edition Touch Covers) for free when you purchase it this month in the U.S. or CanadaThe Microsoft Surface RT features a 10.6 inch touch display, up to 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 1.2 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture, a secondary HD camera for Skype video calls and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Tegra 3 processor with 2GB of RAM.
The Surface RT also includes a free copy of Microsoft Office 2013 RT, which is a useful add-on for students and business users.
The 32GB Surface will cost you $499, while the 64GB model will set you back $599. However we advise users to add the tablet only option instead of choosing the bundled option if you want to get the discounted cover. The Bundled Surface RT with the cover still costs $599 and above.
Unfortunately Microsoft doesn't extend this offer to the Surface Pro, which could really use the discounted keyboard.
