HTC One X to receive impressive speed boost with upcoming software update


A recently leaked ROM for the international variant of the HTC One X has demonstrated some impressive performance improvements that HTC has been working on with their Sense 4.1 user interface. In fact the ROM managed to get the HTC One X an impressive score of 6000 on the Quadrant benchmark test.

The leaked software version 2.15.401.5 updates to Android 4.0.4 which will offer a new kernel, the latest Google security and performance updates, along with the following improvements from HTC:

  • Removes the lag from the Live wallpaper
  • Adds a dedicated button in the camera app to switch between the front and rear camera
  • Adds a dedicated button to the browser to switch between tabs.
  • 3D effects have been removed from the launcher to reduce lag
  • The ability to remap the recent apps and home buttons.
  • A fix for weak Wi-Fi signals
  • Improved battery life to 5+ hours compared to the 3+ hours with sense 4.0
