Apple iPad 2 officially announced

The Apple iPad 2 was announced today at an event which took place in San Francisco California. The new iPad is thinner, lighter and faster than the original and will be available on March 11th 2011.

The iPad 2 is powered by Apple's dual core A5 chip and offers the same 10 hour battery life in it's 33 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter frame. It has an updated graphics chip which boasts 9 times faster graphics performance, which promise much better performance in games and apps, specially those with videos.

The iPad 2 can two cameras. The front camera now allows you to take video calls using FaceTime and communicate with other Mac OS X, iPhone and iPod Touch users. With the rear camera you can now capture HD videos and edit them directly on your iPad 2 using the new iMovie app which has been specifically designed with the iPad in mind. The video can be mirrored in full 1080p HD onto an HD television. The iPad now also includes a gyroscope along with it's accelerometer and compass, which makes your gaming and using experience a little bit better.
