
The Nokia Lumia 521 for MetroPCS is now receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan software update. The update comes less than a week after T-Mobile pushed out the same version for its variant of the Lumia 521.




We recently reported that Microsoft was already working on Update 2 (GDR2) for Windows Phone 8.1. Now a tweet from a from a contributor to a Polish Windows Phone blog indicates that the GDR2 update will be rolling out as a Preview for Developers on October 8th.

We recently reported that the Nokia Lumia 820 was receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan in the UK, Ireland and the EU. Now it looks like the update is officially being rolled out to various regions globally. The Nokia Lumia 525 is also receiving the updates globally.
The Nokia Lumia 820 is now reportedly receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan in the UK, Ireland and the EU. In the UK and Denmark, the country variant of the device is getting the update, along with carrier variants in Finland (Sonera) and Ireland (Meteor).
Currently developers are being treated to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 (GDR1), which brings several enhancements to OEMs along with a few new features like Live Folders and Cortana enhancements. However it seems that Microsoft may already be working on Update 2 (GDR2) for Windows Phone 8.1.
Microsoft is currently rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan to their entire Lumia Windows Phone 8 lineup and hopes to complete the rollout by the end of summer. Unfortunately with summer drawing to an end, the Nokia Lumia 521 and the Nokia Lumia 925 on T-Mobile have still to be updated to the latest version of Microsoft's mobile OS.
While most Windows Phone 8.0 users are still waiting for the Windows Phone 8.1 update for their devices, Those on the Developer Preview have already been treated to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1. Now Microsoft is rolling out a new 8.10.14157.200 update to this Developer Preview.
We recently saw international variants of the Nokia Lumia 1020 receive the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan. Now the update is being made available for at A&T version of Nokia's 41MP camera flagship in the U.S.
The Nokia Lumia 520 is now receiving the Windows Phone 8.1 update with Lumia Cyan in Europe, and has now reached 25 countries and 30 carriers. Additionally the update is reportedly available on both carrier locked models, as well as the country variants in the above mentioned regions.
Microsoft is rolling out the Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan for the Nokia Lumia 1020 in Canada, UAE, India and UK. Microsoft has announced that the Lumia 1020 on Rogers and Telus in Canada will be receiving the update. They also announced the availability of the update for the Indian market. In the UK, Lumia 1020 users on Vodafone and O2 have reportedly been receiving the update, while certain users in the UAE have also reported receiving the update on their handsets.
