The HP Slate 7 is the first Android tablet from the company and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device features a 7 inch touch display with a somewhat poor 600 by 1024 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3.2 megapixel camera capable of 720p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.6GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor with 1GB of RAM.The tablet doesn’t have the best hardware in its class but its build quality is better than some of its competitors. The Slate 7 has soft touch back and a light profile with a stainless steel finish on its sides, which makes it easy to hold without leaving the user feeling that they are handling a cheap device.
If the build quality of devices like the Google Nexus 7 or the Amazon Kindle Fire are keeping you from investing in those devices, you may consider the HP Slate 7 a great alternate to something like the Apple iPad Mini.
