Google Nexus One receives Android 2.3.6 software update

The Google Nexus One has received a minor software update (Android 2.3.6) which was released for the Google Nexus S earlier this month. The Nexus One which was released back in 2010 is an ageing device being followed by the Google Nexus S and soon to be announced Google Nexus Prime. But anyone who is still using this device will be happy to know that Google is working constantly on keeping their devices updated.

You can wait to receive this update automatically or follow the instructions below to install the update manually.

20th July 2011, nearly 2 weeks since I started using my Google Nexus One. Shifting from a very simple Nokia 3110c to a android smartphone was a big deal and yes, a big change. So thought I'll jot down a few things I wished Google and HTC thought about before putting this phone out which would have made my life easier.

Google Nexus S receives Android 2.3.3 software update

The Google Nexus S is now receiving the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread software update. The update is rolling out OTA over-the-air and it may take a couple of days before it reaches all the handsets.

The Android 2.3.3 is a small feature release which adds several improvements and APIs to the Android 2.3 platform.

The Nexus S is the successor to the Google Nexus One. It features a 4-inch curved touch display, 16GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel camera, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM.

Google Nexus One running Android 3.0 Honeycomb

The Nexus One is Google's own smartphone and thus has always been favored on firmware updates, but check the video below where the Nexus One smartphone runs Google's Tablet OS - Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

I recently came across the 'bump' application developed by Bump Technologies. This application is available for both the iPhone and Android based devices. Using bump you can share your contact information between devices, simply by bumping your devices/hands on each other and let the inbuilt accelerometers' do the rest.

Google Nexus One - Discontinued

The Google Nexus One has unfortunately had it's plug pulled on it due to poor sales. The last shipment has been sent out from Google HQ, and following this there wont be any more devices available for the U.S. consumer market.

Google Nexus One released

Google has finally released the much speculated Nexus One. The device was unveiled by Peter Chou, CEO of HTC and head in the creation of the Nexus One hardware. Featuring some of the grandest features to date, it isn't surprising that the Nexus One has been named super phone by Google.

The device features a 3.7 inch AMOLED display with a WVGA resolution of 800x480, light sensor, GPS, accelerometer, It weighs in at 130 grams and has a 11.5 mm width. The Nexus One has a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, Two microphones with one used for noise cancellation. The device is powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
