HTC Droid DNA receives Android 4.2.2 update with Sense 5

The HTC Droid DNA for Verizon is now receiving the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software update. The new software is being sent out in two parts, which includes Android 4.2.2 and Sense 5. With Sense 5, the Droid DNA will get access to BlinkFeed, with visual updates from your social networks and news feeds. Additionally you will get an updated dialer, calendar, gallery and contacts list to the phone. You will also get Quick Settings for fast settings changes. You will also receive the usual bug fixes and other improvements.

HTC One X+ in Asia receives Android 4.2.2 update including BlinkFeed and more

HTC One X+ devices in Asia are reportedly receiving the Android 4.2.2 software update which includes all the latest features of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean including lock-screen widgets and Daydreams. The update also includes HTC Sense 5.0 UI and BlinkFeed, which brings updates for all your favorite social networks. The latest version includes the ability of streaming video from your social networks, and news news sites along with the ability to show video highlights from your photo gallery. The update is also said to improve  the HTC One X+ battery life.

Sasmung Galaxy S II Plus owners in Germany receive Android 4.2.2 software update

The Samsung Galaxy S II Plus devices in Germany are reportedly receiving the Android 4.2.2 software update. This is a little strange considering that the global versions of Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung Galaxy Note II are still left on the Android 4.1.2 software version.

You can get the update doesn't seem to be available OTA, instead you will be required to connect your Galaxy S II Plus to Samsung Kies on your computer.

HTC One Google Edition - Video Review

We already saw a review of the HTC One, but this time we have a slightly different variant of the device which comes with the latest version of stock version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean - The HTC One Google Edition. Much like its sibling the HTC One, the Google Edition features a 4.7 inch touch display with an FHD resolution, 32GB of internal storage, a 4 megapixel camera with UltraPixel technology which is capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

The device is definitely not for everyone, as HTC fans would miss features like Sense and the Zoe camera experience. Also users who rely on device subsidies maybe put off by the somewhat pricey $600 off contract cost. However if you want the latest version of stock Android served to your device in line with Google's Nexus series, the Google Edition of the HTC One maybe the right device for you.

HTC One receives Android 4.2.2 software update in parts of Europe

HTC has started the roll-out of the Android 4.2.2 software update for their HTC One owners. HTC One owners in Taiwan started receiving the update recently and it is now rolling out to some European 4G variants of the device. The update is said to be 417MB in size and carries the 2.24.401.1 software version.

While users in Scandinavian countries are reportedly receiving the update it has still not arrived for UK devices. You should receive a notification when it is available for your device at which point you can initiate it. Because of its size users are recommended to connect to Wi-Fi in order to download the update and avoid unnecessary data charges

Sony Xperia ZL receives Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean software update

Sony promised to release the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Sony Xperia Z and the Sony Xperia ZL soon after their launch. And even though the Xperia ZL arrived weeks after the Xperia Z, it looks like it will be the first of the two to receive the latest version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

Currently the update is rolling out to users across Europe who own the C6503 of the Xperia ZL (LTE) model. You can get the update through the Sony PC Companion tool or over-the-air. The other models in other countries can expect the update rollout in the coming weeks.

BlackBerry 10.2 will add support for Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean apps

If you are an avid BlackBerry follower or user you may remember when BlackBerry (then RIM) launched PlayBook OS 2.0 with the ability to run specially packaged apps developed for Android 2.3.3.
