Windows Phone 8 has reached RTM, on its way to manufacturers and carriers

Windows Phone 8 has finally reached RTM (Released to Manufacturing) status. This means that Microsoft has completed development and the software is ready for integration into various Windows Phone 8 devices.This is welcome news considering the reports which suggested that Microsoft was running late on completing their mobile operating system.


The Windows Phone development team at Microsoft have been happy to sign off on the RTM, and they have tweeted some photos of the team signing off the RTM Signature Edition of Windows Phone 8

While this is great news, the road toward getting our hands on brand new Windows Phones is still a rocky one. Manufactures will have to integrated, test and certify their devices, while carriers will run their own series of tests on their networks and integrate carrier specific software onto the Windows Phones before they are finally ready for public consumption. This would be a very tight schedule to keep to the hopeful November launch for Windows Phone 8.
