Android 3.1 Honeycomb announced

Google announced an upcoming update to Android Honeycomb during the first day of Google I/O 2011. This update will be available today for the Motorola Xoom for Verizon customers and will find it's way to the other devices in the near future.

This update brings a range of new features and improvements to Android 3.0, including re-sizable widgets, a mode to connect USB devices to your tablet including your digital camera to transfer photos. The update will also refresh most of the Google apps, and add a new Movie app to take advantage of the Movie rentals feature which was also announced.

Android 3.1 will be features n Google TV 2.0 which is due this summer, so we figure that Android 3.0 tablets should start seeing the update by then.
